The Calgary Marathon was first run in 1963 making it canada's longest running marathon. Race day events also include half marathon, 10K and 5K races.

Calgary Marathon Route
The route has been described as 'brutal', with numnerous hills that ensures little chance of a PB.

The start line is in in Bridgeland. From there runners head past the Zoo, the Stampede Grounds and down 17th Avenue, passing through some beautiful local neighborhoods and parks. They are then directed on to Memorial Drive. The route then moves towards the University, passes around Varsity, and then goes back down towards Memorial Drive before heading back to Bridgeland.
